Multiplayer first-person shooter Titanfall was the best game shown at last year's Gamescom, and is shaping up to be the Xbox One's first killer app. The game's set to launch on March 11th, but would-be players will be able to get a taste of Titanfall's man-on-mech action sooner when the game's beta period commences on February 14th. In order to get access to that beta, you'll need to head to a recently opened sign-up page on the Titanfall website, and register your details.
The beta, confirmed for a Valentine's Day launch by Titanfall's newest trailer, will be available on both Xbox One and PC, and reportedly offer three game modesfor play. Vince Zampella, co-founder of developer Respawn Entertainment, clarified that it will be a closed beta, in which only some of those who register are sent an access code to download the game. Zampella also suggested that not everyone who pre-ordered Titanfall would have access to the early build before its launch on Xbox One and PC less than a month later. The game's Xbox 360 release — for which Respawn hasn't yet said whether it will launch a beta — is planned for March 25th.
