Apple's 'iOS in the car' said to be launching next week with cars from Ferrari, others

It's been more than eight weeks since the Mobile maker - Apple announced iOS in the Car in June Last Year, a system designed to put Apple's Siri, Maps, and other services in your own car. And now that vision could be closer to a reality. According to the Financial Times, Apple and a handful of automakers plan to show off the first wave of cars with the feature at the Geneva Motor Show. Citing sources, The Times say that Ferrari, Mercedez-Benz, and Volvo will all show off models that incorporate it.

Those companies declined to comment on the report, though were named last year in a group of early adopters that also included Honda, Nissan, Chevrolet, Kia, Hyundai, and Jaguar.

The timing of the show — which takes place between March 6th to the 16th — also concides with iOS 7.1 Update, the first major update to iOS 7 since the software was released to the public last fall. A video that was released last month showed major changes to Apple's iOS in the car interface in a beta version of the software given to developers for testing. Of course the actual automobiles might not come out until later this year, or beyond. A report from 9to5Mac earlier this month pegged iOS 7.1's release for sometime in March, with the update making a number of cosmetic changes and fixing bugs.

So are you excited that Siri is now going to take control of your car? Are you going to buy a Ferrari? Let us know in the comments section down below.

Have an awesome weekend
