Samsung Galaxy S5 has a fingerprint Sensor

Passcodes and Patterns have become a thing of the past. Unsecure and can easily be known thus granting outsiders permission to access your personal files and mobile devices. But one thing that always stays close to you is your fingers and your fingerprints.

Apple's iPhone 5s released last year was the first consumer device to have this feature and this not only increased sales but increased competition in the smartphone market. Time was running out for the Korean electronics firm. Samsung has always ruled the Mobile World Congress and this year they have stepped back up onto the same level as Apple.

But the S5's fingerprint sensor is a bit different. Firstly a vertical swipe with your finger on the home button is required compared to the simple touch gesture with Apple's iPhone 5s. To make things worse according to The verge it was found to be "quite unreliable and virtually impossible to activate one-handed."

The fingerprint sensor will also act as a password protection for online purchases after Samsung signed a deal with Paypal allowing S5 users to shop at any online store that accepts Paypal as a form of payment password-free with just a flick of your finger. This method of enhanced secure payments could bring added security to users as they do not have to save login credentials on their device which can easily be stolen. Korea Herald Says Galaxy S5 Will have Fingerprint Sensor, But No Iris Scanner

Samsung's new line of S5's are set to roll out in April with the enhanced fingerprint authorisation for online shopping available in 26 countries for now with more countries to be added soon. In conclusion this feature is quite impressive but is still no match to Apple more sophisticated Touch iD. Don't forget to share with us your views in the comments box below.
